Marriott Mobile App Landing Pages


“There's an app for that” is common nomenclature in today's technological culture.  If your business strives to stay in the game you need to have an app that's give users the ability to access your specific goods or services at their fingertips.  Because mobile has become the primary platform of media software, companies need to embrace use of applications that will get in front of their target audiences and ahead of their competitors.  Unlike Hilton, which rolled out brand-specific apps for each of its brands beginning in 2009, Marriott International took the approach of giving the user a single application to access all 3,600 properties.  Booking a room, browsing hotel specific sites and accessing Marriott Rewards ® accounts are three of the many features the app offers.  Upon launch of the app, the hotel conglomerate needed a platform in which to promote this exciting release and turned to Planit for the immense undertaking.

Planit was tasked with creating Marriott's US and international landing pages to promote mobile applications for iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry in a captivating manner. Planit recommended these landing pages display engaging imagery and information in order to entice the user to download the app. Downloading a hotel-specific app to your mobile device requires brand loyalty. To differentiate Marriott from its competitors, Planit represented the user experience by navigating through the actual app on the landing page; from browsing for a hotel to booking a room. If a user lands on one of Marriott's 12 pages, translated in 5 languages they will not only have the option to download the application by clicking one of the smartphone badges—they can simply hold their phone up to the screen and use the smartly placed QR code.

In the first weeks of its release, the Marriott Mobile App had 320,000 downloads and is currently ranked as one of top 10 downloaded Apps from iTunes. Most importantly, Marriott has seen a significant increase in percentage of rooms booked by mobile devices in just a few short months and Planit is very proud to be a part of this success.
