Enterprise Green Communities
Microsite Design and Development
Enterprise Community Partners is a national non-profit organization and a leading provider of capital and expertise for affordable housing and community development. They set out in 2004 to transform the way people think about, design, build, and retro-fit affordable homes through the Green Communities Initiative.
Over the last five years they’ve exceeded their goals, proving that “green” and “affordable” are not mutually exclusive. Through their efforts, they’ve brought the health, economic, and environmental benefits of green building to low—income communities nationwide.
In October of 2009 they were prepared to implement their lessons from the last five years and launch the next generation of the initiative—Enterprise Green Communities. This initiative is a national call to action for America’s public, private, and non-profit sectors to make all affordable housing, new and existing, green within the next decade. A $4 billion dollar commitment was made to preserve and retro-fit 75,000 smarter, healthier affordable green homes.
Planit provided a powerful online destination that was the primary focus of the Green Communities launch to promote the initiative, educate the public, and encourage participation. The microsite allowed them to present the initiative’s innovation, value, and benefits in an integrated fashion, including development of an online forum and Green Communities blog.
In support of this effort Planit also developed a brand identity, a logo, corporate ID materials, email marketing, print, and collateral to announce the initiative and drive traffic to the website. Planit is currently working on print ad development and supplemental collateral materials to support the next generation of the Enterprise Green Communities effort.
