City of Baltimore
Anti-Littering Outdoor Advertising
In an effort to combat the specific problems of litter, the City of Baltimore, in partnership with the Baltimore Community Foundation, selected Planit to create and implement a social marketing campaign to change the public’s perception of littering and the behaviors that contribute to the City’s litter problems.
Using the unapologetic, "in your face” approach, Planit created outdoor messages that are used on non-traditional mediums such as trashcans, city-owned fleet vehicles, and transit buses. These messages attempt to deter improper trash disposal and littering, and serve to educate City residents, commuters, and tourists about the litter problem in Baltimore City. The outdoor campaign pushes messages that promote behavioral change as a way to promote a cleaner, greener, healthier Baltimore.
