Humanitarian Pandemic Preparedness (H2P) Website Design and Development
Though there are vast resources dedicated to providing guidance on pandemic preparedness, awareness of this subject matter around the world is still very low. Over the course of just weeks, an outbreak could severely impact society and cause immense disruption.
In an effort to reduce excess mortality in developing countries, USAID funded a three-year initiative, The Humanitarian Pandemic Preparedness Initiative (H2P), to support community-level planning on how to organize, coordinate, and deliver an effective humanitarian response in countries deemed to be most vulnerable to an outbreak of pandemic influenza. The H2P Initiative is composed of a core group of partners including The International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC), the CORE Group, AI.COMM, InterAction, and the UN, among others.
Planit was asked to develop the visual identity and to design and deploy a content-driven website informing users about pandemic influenza and how they can prepare for an outbreak.
Planit designed the primary visual representation of the H2P initiative. Planit worked collaboratively with AED to design and develop the H2P website which incorporated the new brand identity. The website served as the source for practical and applicable guidance and information to educate the public on what a pandemic is and what they need to do to prepare themselves.
