Planit is looking for an experienced Interactive Developer/Designer. This position
requires a strong background in front-end development/HTML production, and a great
sense and knowledge of design and usability. As technology continues to merge highend
functionality with really sharp design aesthetic, Planit is looking for a person who
has proven experience with bringing those worlds together. Due to the "hybrid" nature
of this position, you will have a dual role at Planit. First, you will play a major role in
completing projects through the entire front-end development life cycle. This task
requires proven working experience in developing bulletproof, standards-compliant,
browser-tested HTML/CSS for a number of projects. Second, you will work closely with
an award-winning Interactive team to execute the creative strategy for projects by
creating web design solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Producing validated HTML/CSS across specified browsers/devices for a large range of projects in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Working directly with Planit's development team in producing/designing user interfaces for a number of CMSs and web-based applications
  • Helping our development team create jQuery/javascript/AJAX solutions to enhance usability and user experience on web projects
  • Advising project leads in best practice for web/tech solutions
  • Offering recommendations on content and development solutions
  • Creating design solutions on brand and on strategy

Job Requirements:
Development

  • Proven high level of experience in HTML, XHTML, XML, CSS development
  • Experience working with JavaScript for rich interfaces (AJAX, jQuery, etc.)
  • Must be comfortable working with and/or learning PHP, ASP.NET, and SQL
  • Willingness to explore new options and solutions

Design

  • Experience with entire Adobe Creative Suite (including Flash)
  • 2+ years of experience designing for web
  • Portfolio that represents a range of design styles as well as a clear personal aesthetic
  • Ability to be patient and focused under tight deadlines
  • Work well with a close, multi-disciplined team
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills

Preferable, but not required, skills:

  • Experience working with Wordpress, Expression Engine, Sitecore, or other off-the-shelf CMS solutions
  • Examples of third-party integration
  • Knowledge of/Experience in developing or designing for hand-held devices
  • ActionScript experience
  • Agency experience
